Get out for some fresh air and explore the grounds at the Museums at Aptucxet to enjoy the over 10,000 blooming daffodils at the Bourne Historical Society’s 4th Annual week-long Daffodil Festival! Join us rain or shine from April 13th to April 20th for a full-week celebration of Spring, featuring crafts, art, local vendors, music, and food.
On Saturday, April 13th, the festival kicks off with a day-long event from 10am to 3pm. The gift shop will be open, offering a variety of items from local artisans. The “Blooming Together” collaborative community art project will be set up inside the Joseph Jefferson Windmill and the Gray Gables Railroad Station will be open. There will be free kids crafts in the Pavilion, a Craft Fair made up of local artisans and live music with Chris Carter. Don’t forget to stop by the grill for lunch! The menu will include hot dogs and Italian Sausages – both regular and vegetarian options. This is a family friendly, free outdoor event!
The Gift Shop and the Windmill will be open daily from 10am to 3pm during the week-long celebration, and the train station will be open for tours on both Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Throughout the week, there will be plenty of opportunities to get creative with craft classes. See below for our schedule of classes offered.
Daffodil Days Craft Classes
Thank you to the Bourne Community Engagement Committee for sponsoring us with a grant for the daffodil bulbs! We thank everyone who participated in past year’s Daffodil Days and made it a success! We look forward to seeing you all this year.
Blooming Together Art Project
Thanks to a grant from Mass Cultural Council, the Bourne Historical Society kicked off a collaborative, community art project during the 2023 Daffodil Days Festival at the Museums at Aptucxet. We invited attendees to participate by creating their own individual art pieces inspired by nature, which were assembled into a large sculpture inside the Joseph Jefferson Windmill at Aptucxet.
The Bourne Historical Society was excited to offer this collaborative art project for the Daffodil Days Festival. We believe that this project encouraged creativity, community participation, and provided a beautiful and unique piece of art to showcase at the festival and beyond.
